You may have already heard of the Hand in Hand’s reputation for unusual and specialist beers – but in any case, you won’t miss the building. Bright yellow, with red trimmings, it occupies an atmospheric little corner at the start of Kemptown village, with the pretty little alleyway of Marine Gardens leading down to the seafront. There’s been a pub on this spot for more than 150 years.
Beers: diverse, specialist and some brewed on the premises are what you’ve come for. The Hand in Hand has more than 40, including Brighton Bier, Sheep Dip, Tickets Boo, Rooster’s Blind Jack pale ale and Hacker Pschorr. The great names extend to other drinks, Sussex’s own Seacider.
Friendly, cosy and eccentric, it’s a place to bunker in and enjoy. There’s jazz every Sunday from 8pm.
