Tucked away within a walled garden near St Marks Church, Badgers Tennis Club is a small community gem with an impressive history. It started life around 1895 as the Kemp Town Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Today’s club has three all-weather courts which can be floodlit and one carpet court. There are also two practice walls. Activities include coaching for individuals and groups, tournaments — and the club has two men’s and ladies’ teams which compete in the Sussex County League. Sociable and fun, tea and cake are essential aspects of Badgers Club afternoons and the light, airy clubhouse (which has onsite changing facilities) has a licensed bar offering food and drink and hot meals. The clubhouse can also be hired for private functions.
The club welcomes members of all ages and abilities — including non-playing social members. For details of membership fees, click here
