There’s more to this cafe than the pleasant and formal looking green exterior. Out the back is a south-facing garden area where you can escape the bustle of St James St for a quiet coffee or snack. Many of the ingredients which go into Morris and Jacques’ breakfasts, lunches and suppers are locally sourced, as are many of the wines, beers and juices. Even the tea blends come from Brighton tea company Bluebird. The sandwich and baked potato options are popular lunchtime takeouts.
It’s worth keeping an eye on their Twitter feed and website for details of occasional pop-up supper clubs and other fun events here. They also offer a catering service — and the cafe and garden are also available for private hire.
